For the
Broken is a post-hardcore band from Fredericksburg, Virginia.
It was
pretty much their turn for a write-up anyway, but the timing is good because
they recently started an Indiegogo campaign to produce a new EP, so if this can
send a few people to their page and help them hit their goal, that would be
great.
As one
would expect from the genre, there is a lot of growling and shouting, but that
is not all there is. They do include more melodic singing, as well as using guitars
and other instruments to add some fairly intricate detail. In that way they
remind me of Crow Black Sky. The sound is not quite as mature, but it is a
younger band. There is a pretty consistent balance among the various tracks.
"Elysium" is a good example.
In addition
to supporting the Indiegogo campaign, current releases can be purchased via
Bandcamp.
